Countdown to International Women’s Day 2012 begins!

Merseyside Women are gearing up for International Women’s Day 2012!

We will march on Saturday 10th March, meeting at 12 noon at St George’s Plateau in Liverpool city centre (opposite Lime Street station). Bring your banners, whistles, drums, children, grannies, sisters and friends!

After making our merry way through the city, we will arrive at St Bride’s on Catherine Street (near the Liverpool Women’s Hospital and the Anglican Cathedral). From about 2.30pm there will be food, entertainment, stalls from local groups and kid’s activities. There will be a panel of speakers from various organisations across Merseyside talking about tackling gender-based violence, the effects of the cuts on women, the plight of women seeking asylum, and local women’s activism in Merseyside. After the speakers, there will be time for Q&A and discussion.

We’re hoping to organise a party afterwards, so watch this space for further announcements!

If you’d like to have a stall at the event, or contribute to it in some other way, please get in touch –

All women welcome!
