International Womens Day – Building Bridges to Peace – Portsmouth ~ 8th March 2012

From 17:00 until 18:00 on City Bridge Gunwharf Quay Portsmouth

Thousands of events will be occuring around the world on International Womens day on the 8th of march 2012 to mark the economic,political and social acheivments of women. Women will be gathering on bridges around the world to build bridges to peace. White ribbon Portsmouth and Solent Feminist Network are holding there very own bridge event for the second year running. Please come along and join us x

On the 8th of March 2012 we will be holding our annual international women’s day building bridges to peace event at Gun-wharf Quay,Gun-wharf are always very supportive of White Ribbon Events.

Please would you and your family join us at this event, it would be great to have you all there to share this occasion.

The event is as follows
* Assemble on the City Quay bridge at Gun-wharf for 5pm on the 8Th of March. You will have the opportunity to write a name of a women who inspires you on a white ribbon and tie it to the bridge.
* 5.15pm Speech from the chair of white ribbon
* 5.20pm a small service and 2min silence in remembrance of all women who have lost there lives to violence this year.
* 5.30pm Speech from the Chair of Solent Feminist Network
* 5.35 Portsmouth high school will sing for us (TBC) and we will release 100 white balloons to celebrate women economically politically and socially.
