International Women’s Day Celebration – Benefit for MEWN Swansea ~ 29th March 2012

MEWN Swansea are celebrating International Women’s Day on the 29th March 2012.

The event will be taking place at Marriott Hotel Swansea. Doors open at 6.30pm with the evening starting at 7.00pm.

The evening will include a International buffet meal, table magic and a variety of performances for your entertainment.

The event will raise funds for Black Minority Ethnic (BME) women living in Wales who are fleeing domestic violence.

Often those who ask for our help are not entitled to public funds and are left with no money for essential living costs such as food, water, gas and electric.

Our aim for the evening is to raise as much money as possible to ensure that our safe house is available and accessible for women who have no recourse to public funds.

We would like to invite you and/or your organisation to support this vital cause by attending.

Ticket prices are £25 individually.

If you would like any further information or would like to purchase tickets, please contact Nasima on 01792 467722.

Palestinian Women visit London on a Cultural Exchange Project – 20th and 24th March 2012

From 15th – 25th March 2012 ten young women from Palestine are coming to London for a Youth in Action funded project. This will involve skills sharing and a cultural exchange with young women from the UK. The project is co-ordinated by the Camden Abu Dis Friendship Assoication, a registered charity working to raise awareness of the human rights situation in Palestine. Abu Dis is a small town in the suburb of Jerusalem, now cut off from the city by the Israeli Separation Wall. This has had a serious impact on the health, education, freedom of movement, family life and thus the basic human rights of Palestinians.
